What does “off-dry” mean in wines?

"Off-dry" describes the sweetness of the wine. Legally, off-dry wines are classified as semi-dry.

What does a semi-dry wine taste like?

The off-dry wine should not taste dry or bitter, but it should also not develop a dominant sweetness, as can be tasted in some semi-dry wines.

What is the difference between semi-dry and dry?

In contrast to "dry," which can sometimes be somewhat complicated or demanding, wine connoisseurs expect a "off-dry" wine to still taste dry, but with a pleasant, drinkable fruity sweetness integrated into the tartaric acid. The goal is a very pleasant drinking experience.
